I took 4 weeks of classes here this summer, and it was such a great experience. Rafael is a highly skilled teacher. I wanted to improve my speaking to use the language at work, and he created relevant classes that allowed me to greatly improve. He also conducts some classes in different areas that get you out of the city to see the area.

Esteli is a wonderful and safe city. I felt secure walking alone as a woman and taking public transportation. There are very few foreigners, which makes it a great place for language practice. Rafael is a top tier Spanish teacher. I have visited many countries and attended many Spanish schools and he is one of the best teachers I have had. Also he hustles constantly to ensure that you get the most of your time in Estelí. Want to go into a cigar factory (Plasencia) he will get you in. A waterfall for classes, done. Rafael ist professionell. Ich spreche spanisch, aber ohne richtige Struktur und Rafael hat ein ein eigenes Lernprogramm für mich erstellt. Mit Rafael und Myriam habe ich einen Einblick über das Leben in Nicaragua erhalten, das Touristen oft verborgen bleibt. I took private Spanish lessons with Rafael online for 2+ years. He’s a great teacher, very easy to talk with, and has a great sense of humor. I appreciated that he was always prepared and on-time. My Spanish and confidence speaking improved a great deal. On a related note, although I took classes online with Rafael, i had visited Esteli a few years before that while traveling in Nicaragua. I worked with Rafael, the owner of the school for two months of intensive Spanish language classes.  I worked with Rafael for 6 hrs/day, 5 days/week.  I had no formal Spanish education prior to arriving, and spoke minimal Spanish which I had learned from using an application.  Rafael is an excellent teacher!  He gave me a really strong foundation of Spanish grammar, helped me with colloquial speech, and healthcare-specific terminology.  He even helped me to practice with medical role-play, where he was my patient, and I could practice interviewing him.  It was so helpful!  I wanted to learn better Spanish for medical volunteer work in Central America.  I am now working as a volunteer and have much more confidence speaking with people.  Rafael is also just fun to talk to and is always up for jokes!  One more note, I felt totally safe in Estelí as a woman by myself for two months.
