Do the host families speak English?
No, our host families do not speak English. This is intentional: living with a 100% Spanish-speaking family makes your immersion process total. You’ll be encouraged to practice Spanish every day, in every meal and conversation, which dramatically speeds up your learning.
Does the homestay include laundry service?
No, laundry is not included in the homestay. However, some families offer this service for an extra fee, and there are also laundromats near downtown Estelí.
What if I don’t feel comfortable with my host family?
Your comfort is our priority. If at any point you don’t feel at ease, you can let Rafael know directly, and he’ll resolve the situation or help you find another family that better fits your needs.
Where is the homestay located?
The homestay is located just 300 meters from Estelí’s Central Park, in a very convenient area. From there, you have walking access to the soccer stadium, the central park, gyms, supermarkets, zumba classes, and other local activities.

No problem! There are excellent accommodation options in Estelí—especially near Parque Central and along Avenida Central, just minutes from our school. If you’re planning a stay in Estelí, choosing the right hostel depends heavily on how much you value a quiet night’s sleep. While some spots offer a convenient location near the Pan-American Highway, that proximity comes with a literal “noisy” trade-off. Since this highway is the main artery for Central American trade, students and travelers often report being jolted awake at midnight by the roar of semi-truck engines or the piercing blast of air horns as convoys rumble past. There is ‘No Stress hostel’ until the trucks start roaring at midnight.
