The instructors at Spanish School Nicaragua have been teaching Spanish as a second language to non-native speakers since 2009. Our staff is made up of five skilled teachers who have been working in the field of language development for the past 25 years. Each one of these instructors is experienced and qualified in teaching Spanish. We know that there are a variety of factors that contribute to one’s ability to learn another language, such as age, education level, past experience learning another language, personal motivation, the amount of time dedicated to studying, and the student’s commitment to practicing the spoken language. For these reasons, we encourage you to facilitate your learning of the Spanish language through immersion in real life situations as much as possible.
As a student at Spanish School Nicaragua, you will have the opportunity to apply your acquired language skills in various cultural settings throughout Nicaragua. Although your instruction will be delivered primarily in a classroom setting, these skills can be applied through electing to participate in a highly-beneficial home-stay during your time spent with our school. In addition, students will also have the opportunity to interact with native speakers in markets, shops, cinemas, restaurants, parks, churches, tours, and other local settings. I’m Rafael Castillo, founder and owner of Spanish School Nicaragua. I was born in Estelí, Nicaragua, and live there with my wife Carla, my son Carlos, and my daughter Olivia.
I’ve been teaching Spanish as a second language for more than twenty years and I’m proud of the many friends I’ve made in many countries. Currently I am studying a Master:Teaching Spanish as a second language. I love to stay in touch with them by Facebook, Instagram, emails, and phone calls.

The internet has made Spanish classes easy. We can talk ”face-to-face” on Skype, Zoom, and other apps—you from the comfort of your home, and me from Estelí, Nicaragua. It’s like having a Latino language coach there with you, helping you speak the language the way it’s really spoken here. And because things are so much cheaper in Nicaragua, the price of Spanish lessons is incredibly low for you.
I am a Spanish teacher with 25 years teaching Spanish as a second language. Currently I’m studying a Master in training of teachers of Spanish as a foreign language who teach Spanish a second language. Don’t worry if you don’t speak any Spanish yet, I lived in the US for a while and speak English also, therefore we’ll communicate easily, and tailor your lessons specifically to your level and needs. We teach students of all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced, and of all nationalities.
